Nazifa Jalali

Nazifa Jalali is a journalist, peacebuilder, and human rights advocate with extensive experience in media, civil society, women’s empowerment, and international advocacy. Throughout her career, she has worked in human rights documentation, education, social development, and peacebuilding initiatives in Afghanistan and internationally.

She currently serves as a member of the Steering Committee of the Human Rights Defenders Network, where she works on documenting human rights violations in Afghanistan. Her responsibilities include collecting verified information, conducting in-depth interviews with victims and witnesses, and producing accurate reports for international advocacy, awareness-raising, and justice-seeking efforts.

Nazifa is also a Board Member of the Dialogue Hub for Common Ground, a platform dedicated to fostering dialogue among diverse communities, increasing the participation of women and youth, and supporting peacebuilding processes.

In addition, she is the co-founder of an economic empowerment initiative for Afghan women focused on skills development, production activities, and supporting women’s entrepreneurship both inside Afghanistan and within exile communities.

Following the fall of Afghanistan, Nazifa served as the Executive Director of Cheragh Media in Norway. She has also collaborated with several national and international organizations in the fields of women’s rights education, legal advisory, civic education, social training, and project management.

She holds a degree in Law (Judiciary and Prosecution) and has completed fellowships in documentation, international advocacy, and political leadership. She is currently pursuing further studies in Human Rights.

Nazifa remains committed to advancing education, dialogue, documentation, and international advocacy to support social development and protect the rights of women and vulnerable communities.
