Shafi Karimi

Shafi Karimi is the Founder and Director of Future Afghanistan and an award-winning multimedia journalist and writer with more than nine years of experience covering Afghanistan’s political and social developments. His reporting has focused extensively on key national events, including the Taliban’s return to power in 2021 and its impact on Afghan society.

Currently based in France, Shafi contributes to several international media outlets, including France 24, Vice News, Mail Online, Nikkei Asia, and Akhbar Alaan. Prior to relocating, he worked in Kabul as a reporter for Radio Azadi, TOLO News, and Ariana News.

In addition to his journalism work, Shafi serves as the Project Manager of the “Women for Women” podcast, a platform dedicated to amplifying women’s voices and sharing stories of resilience, rights, and social change.
